This our B & B, the Holly Hill House.











This is an upsidedown tree at the Holly Hill House . What the heck is an upsidedown tree, you ask. Well, the houses original owners had a Japanese gardener who took two camperwood elm trees and cut them in half. He then grafted the two root halves of the tree together and planted them in the garden. The top root mass grew as branches would. Only difference is that they are still roots, and all the want to do is get back into the ground. Therefore you get the 'weeping' affect and they have had to support all the "branches" to prevent them from reaching the ground. The actual tree trunk is at the tallest part of the tree on the right and the part on the left are branches being supported by wooden frames.


This is looking up under the tree at the branches/roots. Pretty dang cool, huh?!?!? They also have an upside down mulberry tree, bearing fruit and everything. I didnt get any pictures of that though.















So all in all we had a fabulous, refreshing retreat. We spent a lot of time just wandering through town, in and out of all the little shops. Had an amazing dinner at T's Restaurant. Oh man, oh man was that good food, and great ambience. Loved it!!!
